Danny litigates matters involving commercial disputes, intra-corporate disputes, business disputes, trade secret theft, restrictive covenant violations, employment disputes, wage disputes, class actions, breach of fiduciary duty claims, fraud claims, construction matters, and real estate disputes. Danny also advocates for his clients during investigations conducted by government agencies, having represented clients in connection with investigations conducted by the United States Department of Justice, Arizona’s Department of Environmental Quality, Arizona’s Office of Inspector General, Arizona Registrar of Contractors, United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Arizona Civil Rights Division, the National Labor Relations Board, the Department of Labor, and more.
Danny maintains a robust corporate practice, handling matters involving corporate formation, corporate governance, shareholder/member disputes, mergers & acquisitions, takeovers, business planning, corporate initiatives, executive compensation, corporate agreements, restrictive covenants/golden handcuffs, and intellectual property protection. Danny’s corporate clients range from start-ups to companies with a national footprint.
Danny regularly advises employers on best practices in the workplace, conducts investigations regarding employee complaints, and provides options when issues arise. Danny handles matters involving trade secrets, restrictive covenants, business disputes, and workplace torts. He also addresses with urgency workplace violence issues and routinely obtains Injunctions Against Workplace Harassment to prevent former employees from harassing employers.
Danny has been recognized and has received awards for his work in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Corporate Law, Labor and Employment Law – Management, Litigation – Construction, and Litigation – Labor and Employment. Danny is a contributing author to the Arizona Human Resources Manual and is a frequent speaker at seminars, including national seminars, on employment issues.
Mr. Marks received his J.D., with distinction, from the University of Nebraska College of Law. At Nebraska, he was published by the Nebraska Law Review Bulletin and received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Pretrial Litigation, Remedies & Damages, and Criminal Procedure. Danny was a member of the law school’s national trial team, a finalist in the law school’s first-year client counseling competition and a semi-finalist in the school’s Grether moot court competition. Because of his contributions to the law school’s advocacy programs, he was admitted to The Order of Barristers. Mr. Marks received his B.A. in History, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona. Danny previously served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. Brown of the Arizona Court of Appeals.
